Richmond County's Cheryl Brady will work you out with her routine - Bumps, Lines, and Grooves! Classes will take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:30pm- 6:30pm for only $3.00 per session. The Bumps, Lines, and Grooves Class features Party Line Dances, Old School R&B, Hip-Hop & Funky Dance Routines, Zumba, and Toning Sessions. The Fitness Center is located at 201 E. Blood Drive

There will be a Blood Drive at Lilesville Baptist Church on Saturday, January 18, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. All donors must weigh at least 120 pounds. The church is located at 118 Camden Street in Lilesville. This Blood Drive is coordinated by the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas. More public drives can be found at their website www.cbcc.us. The 7th Annual Barn Blast Fundraiser

The Anson County Partnership for Children invites you to join us at the Lockart Taylor Center, 514 N Washington Street, Wadesboro, for the 7th annual Barn Blast fundraiser. This is a night of food, fun, music, and dancing for everyone featuring silent and live auctions to raise money for the children in Anson County. Proceeds from this event will be used to continue sending books to the 1,035 children in Anson County who are registered for Dolly Partons Imagination Library. They will also fund the Partnerships other literacy initiatives including Motheread, Teacheread, the Raising a Reader Bookbag Program, the Reach Out and Read Program and numerous book distributions. Tickets this year are $40.00 if purchased prior to January 11, after January 11 they will be $50. New this year will be the Barn Blast Champions for Children Reception honoring local champions for children from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm in the Olde Mill Gallery at Lockhart-Taylor Center, SPCC. Tickets are $100 and includes wine, appetizers, live music and early entrance to the Barn Blast.

Meetings will be held in the Charles Riddle Staff Development Center at the Board of Education Office, located at 320 Camden Road in Wadesboro, unless otherwise noted.

10th annual Barn Blast fundraiser

Tickets for the 10th annual Barn Blast fundraiser are available now at the Anson County Partnership for Children! The 2016 Barn Blast will be held on Friday, January 29, from 5 to 11:30 p.m. in the Ingram Room at SPCCs Lockhart-Taylor Center in Wadesboro. This fundraising event features dinner, dancing, drinks, silent auctions, a live auction and lots of western themed fun. Reserved tables for 8 are available for $400 ($50 per ticket). General admission tickets are $60 each. After January 1, prices for reserved tables increase to $480 ($60 per ticket) and general admission tickets will not be sold. Be sure to purchase your Barn Blast tickets early before they sell out!

All profits from the Barn Blast are used in Anson County for the Partnerships many programs for young children. These programs include Dolly Partons Imagination Library which mails a book each month to over 1,100 children in Anson County and the new ReadyRosie program that provides daily videos that model literacy and math activities.

Bowling for the Arts - 1/30/2013
January 30 -- Bowling for the Arts hosted by the Anson County Arts Council will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall in Wadesboro from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Tickets are $25 each and include chili, slaw, cornbread, dessert and beverage. Tickets also include your choice of a hand thrown pottery bowl by Anne Crabbe, Terry Craver, Pat Franklin, Catherine Neal, Ruth Ann Pope or James Price.
